First day with a new antenna on 30m and over 700 QSOs done.
Monday morning in Europe will be probably last day of operation on 40m. After I plan to change this antenna to 30m and to operate there for last week of my operation.
I plan to participate as 10m SOSB.
As always, about 30% HAMs do not call in Fox/Hound mode on FT8. When I operate on “special” DX frequencies ending: 092, 922, 070 I always use Fox/Hound mode on FT8. Please, please do the same!
Set “Hound” in: File -> Settings -> Advanced -> Special operating activity.
Remember: call me above 1000 Hz.
Thanks to the good will of several people, I received an amplifier today. I hope that stations with worse antennas will now receive me and I will give ATNO to many HAMs.
As you probably know I was allowed only 14kg onto airplane to Manihiki. No amplifier, no additional poles, no more wires. I took only sloper for 12m. After some time my desire to have better antenna for this band was stronger and stronger. Finally I found some local materials and below you see result.
I am in Manihiki and it is a good news.
But…
My amplifier was not taken into airplane. Only strict 14 kg are allowed, including personal cabin luggage.
Keyboard in my laptop does not work properly.
Last part of my long travel from Poland to Manihiki is supported by Air Rarotonga – Cook Islands national airline. It operates flights between main Cook Islands and central hub is Rarotonga International Airport. Flight from Rarotonga to Manihiki takes 3h 20min and is scheduled every two weeks.
E51JAN license is ready to collect in Rarotonga. Flights and accommodation are booked. The only uncertain is luggage allowance. Will it be only 13kg or more?
I am allowed only 13kg of luggage during flight to Manihiki but I need much more. Additional luggage will be decided during check-in.
Let’s hope there will be not much load of airplane and I can take all necessary equipment with me….
